Description

A hike to four lovely alpine lakes amid rare mountain flowers and beneath imposing mountains.

Leisee lake

The first lake appears not long after starting at the Sunnegga - the Leisee. As you walk it will be on your left-hand side. The path now turns eastward with a view mainly towards the Adlerhorn.

Stellisee lake

After about an hour of ascending you will reach the Stellisee, famous for its Matterhorn reflection. We recommend you to walk around this charming little lake. From here the path goes downwards and in around 30 minutes you will arrive at the Grindjisee lake.

Grindjisee lake

Somewhat above the lake you will be able to appreciate many bright, alpine flowers. The path now crosses a glacier moraine – from remains of the last ice age – and then down to the Grünsee lake.

Grünsee lake

This lake is just waiting for you to take a swim in it. Finally, the walk nears its end in the lovely larch and arven-pine forest towards Riffelalp.

Check if the trail is open before starting your hike.
